Course content and examination requirements

The Physical Education AS/A2 Level expands on many of the ideas and concepts already encountered during Key Stage 4. It also provides a natural progression for pupils who studied GCSE Physical Education, although this is not essential. The course will develop knowledge, skills and understanding of the factors which influence the quality of performance, and enable pupils to improve their own and others’ performance through different strategies. They will develop an understanding of the socio-cultural, moral, global and contemporary factors in physical education, which affect participation in, and provision for sport and physical activity.

The course has both practical and theoretical aspects and assessment.
